The Baltimore Pan Afrikan Commnity has lost another of its Elders to the warm embrace of the Honored Ancestors.
Baba Sitawi Kiongozi Jahi (December 18, 1952-March 17, 2026) was a longtime activist and community healer in the Baltimore area. He and his wife, Mama Cynthia Jahi, ran Movements Unlimited Performing Arts Company for many years. In recent years, Baba Sitawi Jahi was an editor and spiritual advisor to The National Black Unity News, a Black-owned and -operated print newspaper founded and published by Baba David Murphy, who was a close friend and who often consulted Baba Jahi about the newspaper and spiritual matters. He regularly opened and closed Baba David Murphy’s weekly Monday podcasts with a spiritual reading or a prayer.
A virtual homegoing and memorial service will be held on Zoom for family, friends and colleagues on Friday, June 12 at 6:30 PM.
