Bill Goodin Fund Raiser and “Pay Up Get Out The Way” Screenings at Pikes Cinema March 21

There is a lot going on in the Baltimore, Maryland area on Saturday, March 21.

An accompanying post on this Web site provides details about the upcoming Pan Afrikan Community Town Hall Meeting being conducted by the Maryland Pan Afrikan Cooperative Coalition (MPACC) at the Temple of New African Thought (5525 Harford Road) from 1:00 – 5:00 PM that day.  But that is not the only event happening that day that should be of interest to the Baltimore-area and Maryland Pan Afrikan grassroots and activist communities.  Below are two important film screenings taking place at the Pikes Cinema on Reisterstown Road.  Even though the first of these events is happening at the same time as our MPACC Community Town Hall, we support this effort as well and hope that those who cannot attend the Town Hall will be able to support this film screening, as both events seek to bring unity to our people.  And immediately after the first film at the Pikes Cinema, another screening will be held of an important Reparations-themed film, “Pay Up Get Out The Way”.  It’s important that we as Pan Afrikan activists support each other’s work.

Proceeds from the two events will go toward the continuing effort to revitalize and strengthen the Pikes Cinema, a Black-owned and operated venue of BlackMen Unifying BlackMen co-founder Mike Johnson, located just north of Baltimore City on Reisterstown Road.

Bill Goodin’s Benefit Screening of Unity Film at 1:00 PM

Local activist Bill Goodin, one of the co-founders of BlackMen Unifying BlackMen, has invited the public to attend a movie screening at Pikes Cinema, 921 Reisterstown Road, from 1:00 – 4:00 PM.  The screening will feature a number of People’s Protests and community actions.

Bill’s Facebook post reads as follows:

On March 21,2026 I am inviting each of you to the Pikes Cinema at 1 p.m.  I am personally hosting an event, which is a fundraiser, and yet, it is a moment of motivating our unity.

There will be many clips of protests and demonstrations that one will witness.  There will be opportunities to meet and greet others you possibly have not met.
There is a small cost, but be assured the $25.00 will be well worth it.

I am suggesting you come early as there are limited seatings.  …

Looking forward to seeing each of you. If things go well, I am thinking about possibly doing this every third Saturday.

“Pay Up Get Out The Way” Screening at 5:00 PM

Later that same day, also at the Pikes Cinema, there will be a screening of the Reparations-themed film “Pay Up Get Out The Way”, produced by film maker John Comer and featuring several Baltimore-area activists.  A panel discussion will follow.  This event starts at 5:00 PM, will be hosted by Sis. Tomiko Shine of Aging People in Prison Human Rights Campaign (APPHRC) and the Maryland Pan Afrikan Cooperative Coalition (MPACC).  The panel will be moderated by Dr. Vickie Casanova-Willis (pictured, right) and will include the film’s producer John Comer, Nneka Nnamdi (founder of Fight Blight Baltimore), Rodney Dugue (President of the Brooklyn, New York UNIA-ACL and producer of the film UNIA-NY The FACA-ROC Grocery Store) and Ron Hantz (Network for Developing Conscious Communities/Cooperatives).  The event will also be live-streamed on Unity TV.

Some of the sponsors and panelists are expected to make an appearance at the MPACC Community Town Hall at the Temple of New African Thought (TNAT) earlier that day to speak about the film and panel discussion, the importance of the Reparations fight to our greater Pan Afrikan struggle, and the connections between Reparations, Black economic empowerment and the larger work of bringing awareness, unity, organization, mobilization and liberation to the Pan Afrikan community on the local, national and global levels.
